New Immigrant Insurance

Question:

I'm a bit confused about the Patriot America Plus insurance for new immigrants because when I try and buy it, it asks what my country of residence is, which will obviously be the United States since I'm immigrating but that's not an option in the drop down menu. It also asks when I'm returning to my country of residence, which is not in the foreseeable future since again, I'm immigrating. So what do I write to buy the insurance and for it to still be valid? Under country of residence, do I just put the country my passport is from? And under when I'm returning to my country of residence, do I just put any date or the date the insurance is to expiry?

Answer:

When you move to US. First you have to establish your residency means apply for Social security number it will take 1-2 months. So for new immigrant you can select home country that will be your country of citizenship. Date of return to home country will be expiration date of your insurance. Yes that's correct. Once you have social security number you can do domestic long term insurance or insurance through your employer.

So in the beginning you can do either Patriot America Plus or any domestic short term plan.
