H1 visa medical insurance I'm in Saint Joseph, MI came here on H1 visa , i m planning to get my family (spouse and 1yr kid) in May 2016, I'm unable to enroll in my employer provided insurance, can you please suggest me what is the best insurance plan to take for both of them.

Can you please help me with below questions : 1. My family is going to stay with me till my Visa expires, they are not coming for a short term, still am i eligible to take this plan ? 2. Is it mandatory that i should put them in my employers group insurance plan? means can i stay in my employer insurance plan and for my spouse and kid can i take this plan ? 3. Important : what all will not be covered with this plan than compared to general employers insurances ? 4. As my kid is just 1 yr old, does this plan cover all the illness for him, including Immunity tests and others ? 5. Does it cover all illness and maternity for my spouse ? 6. What is the general practice of claiming the insurance ? do we need to go network hospitals or any where ? 7. Does this also cover travel insurance, they are coming from India, is it valid from the date when they fly out from India to Chicago?
