I am trying to figure out whether my parents can buy travel insurance to cover their stay in the US. They both have US green card, but they are Chinese citizen. They will travel to the US for few months every year and stay with us. I am trying to figure out whether they can buy travel insurance to cover their stay, or they will have to buy Obama care.

The available plans for green card holders visiting the United States for a short period will cover any new accident or new illness that occurs after the effective date of the policy. Plans will not cover the pre-existing conditions, routine or preventative care, medications related to pre-existing conditions, or immunizations.
These plans are not ACA compliant and will not stop any penalties assessed by the U.S. government should they be required to purchase a ACA compliant plan.
