New Immigrant Insurance

Question:

Green card holder insurance questions My mother-in-law and father-in-law are coming to the US in June. They are Green Card holders and I plan to enroll them in Obamacare compliant insurance starting next year (Jan 1st). However, I need coverage till then. i.e.) From June 21 when they will land in the US till 12/31st. I set up this quote for ≈$2700. Will this work? Is there any possibility of doing this monthly so that I can pay one month at a time instead of 6 months up front?

Answer:

The plans are renewable as long as you purchase initially for one month. You may renew the policies month by month as needed. This can be done online or over the phone by contacting our office at (866) 467-8289. If you have any additional questions please let us know.

One other question before I purchase. This plan shows up under new immigrants. However they are not new immigrants. They spend some time here and some time in India. They will be eligible for citizenship later this year (have had green card since Nov 2011) and I plan to move them to Obamacare. So, I just need insurance till then. Can you please let me know if I can still purchase this insurance.

Yes, they are eligible to purchase since they are green card holders. The policy will cover them until they enroll in an Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) complaint plan. If you have any additional questions please let us know.
