I am ready to purchase International Health Insurance for my wife and son. They are both US citizens and we live in South Africa. My son is 4 months old. We are immigrating to the US in April. I have resigned from my current job here in SA and so we will lose our current health insurance from 1 April. My wife and baby need coverage while we are still in South Africa. Is the Patriot International travel insurance the best option for them? What do I select for "date of departure from home country" and "date of return to home country"? We have bought one way tickets from South Africa to the US.
The Patriot International plan would be the most appropriate plan for coverage for your wife and child.
The date of departure from the home country would be the date they left the United States because as a U.S. citizen the USA is always considered their home country.
Date of return to the home country would be the date expiration date of the policy.
