I will have a J-1 Visa for 1 year, and the position will start in June. According to the visa rules, I can enter the US 30 days before the start of my position, and can leave up to 30 days after it finishes. When getting the insurance (I only need the repatriation of remains and medical evacuation), will I need to buy it for those 2 extra months? Or is it enough to buy it for the duration of the program?
Since it's a requirement from the State Department of Insurance that you have coverage then you would need coverage for the whole time you are in the US under J1 visa.
