Hi, I am a Canadian in France on a working holiday visa and I need healthcare that includes preexisting conditions (annual checkups for highrisk HPV and cervical polyps) and pregnancy. I currently have a plan which to my knowledge does not cover these. Would it be possible to convert to another plan which would cover these, and if so which plan and how much would it cost to cancel my current plan and switch to that one Many thanks, Margot.
Unfortunately, there are not going to be any plans in the visitors section that will offer that kind of coverage. You would likely need to pay for that sort of treatment out of pocket.
For maternity related expenses, you can run a quote in the Expatriate section of the website. There are some plans that will offer coverage for maternity expenses after a certain waiting period, depending on the plan. These plans can also offer coverage for pre-existing conditions, however a pre-existing condition may be excluded during the underwriting process, so we would not be able to advise if you would receive coverage.
If you decide to cancel and purchase a different plan, there is a $50 cancelation fee with your current plan and you would receive a pro-rated refund for the number of days left as long as there are no claims on file.
