I would just like to confirm whether my wife and I are eligible for Patriot America/ Patriot America plus or Atlas International (or any other long-term medical insurance offered through your company). My wife is a Chinese citizen and resident, and she will fly from Hong Kong to Spain with myself (a UK citizen and resident of China). We will move to Spain to live and work for at least six months and we will not be returning to China after that period (we will move to the UK to settle down). We want to be insured whilst we are in Spain. Will my wife be able to be covered if she is not returning to what is her permanent residence/home residence/home country at the time the policy is purchased? Also, will I be covered in the case of me getting insured in China (my current residence) but then moving to the UK afterwards instead of returning back to China?
The available plans will cover you anywhere outside of your country of citizenship or home country depending upon the plan that you select.
I would recommend purchasing the Atlas International plan as this will cover outside of the country of citizenship. So, while in Spain you and your wife will be able to have coverage for the 6 months or up to 2 years as the plan allows.
I would recommend completing two separate applications as this plan will cover your wife upon going to the UK until she is able to obtain coverage while she is there (if needed).
