Travel Medical Insurance

Question:

Visiting Kenya i am assuming you are the insurance broker that is in charge of all the health insurance companies listed on the website. is that true? i have a sister, who is a US citizen and is 71. she is visiting my other sister in kenya right now until January, 2007. i would like to buy insurance to cover her while she is in kenya. is that possible? please also let me know which the best insurance company is from all the ones listed on this website.

Answer:

1. Yes, we are the brokers for all the insurance companies listed on our web site. 2. Yes, that is possible. There are 2 types of insurance plans. Fixed: Cheaper and limited coverage Comprehensive: Better and more expensive Best one in fixed is Visitors Care. Best one in comprehensive is Protection America. You can look up all of them at /travel-health-insurance/ We have listed the plans in the order in which we consider them to be overall the best ones, in each category. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

thanks for your quick response. i have downloaded the info on Protection International, which sounds like the best way to go for my sister, who is visiting in kenya right now. as i mentioned she is 71 and a US citizen. we need to cover her from june,2006-january, 2007 or maybe a little longer. i have a few questions. 1. it says that the monthly rate is $211 for someone in her age bracket. policy limit is $50,000. on the main website though, it said that with a deductible of $250, the annual rate was $1266. so which figure is correct ? $211 per month or $1266 for the year ? 2. it also says under Indeminity that it would pay $100 per person for each night that they are hospitalized. what if the charges are $200 per night? i am a liitle confused about that. i thought after we pay the deductible they would pay all the charges until we hit $50,000. is that correct? thanks for your time. hope to hear from you soon.

Protection International is for US citizens traveling abroad. You need to look at Protection America. That is for non-US citizens. Premium is $249/month for $250 deductible and $50,000 coverage for 70+. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

2. Hospital indemnity is just the extra pocket change in addition to the actual hospital expenses. Outside US/Canada, you are covered 100% up to policy maximum after the deductible.

2 questions. 1. can my sister get a policy from Protection International in Kenya? do they have offices there? 2. how difficult is it to get bills paid if she gets sick in kenya and we have bought the insurance here? 3. it says that it would pay for sudden onset of symptoms from a pre-existing condition but then under exclusions it excludes the pre-exisitng conditions. so i am confused. please clarify. thanks,

1. You can buy from anywhere in the world as internet web site is visible from anywhere. It is not required to have physical office. 2. It is actually quite straightforward. You can call collect from anywhere in the world. 3. For US citizens, it covers sudden onset of pre-existing conditions up to $15,000. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

thank you for your patience. a couple more questions. when you incur some expenses, then do you fill out the forms and send them in and then they remit the money that you have already spent ? or do you send them bills and they pay the hospital directly? is there an office in kenya for Protection International. where are their headquarters? and lastly who owns InsuBuy.com ? and how long has it been operating? thanks so much,

1. Claim payment: Read /international-medical-ppo-network/ 2. Protection International is from IMG. They have offices in US(Indianapolis) and UK. They don't have offices in all the countries. You can read about IMG at /international-medical-group-insurance/ 3. Read /about-us/ We are in business for over 5 years.
