I am helping my son to renew his 2024 insurance his current ExchangeGuard Certificate Number is. I have question about Preexisting conditions. If he renews same policy for next year,. Does the precondition apply him and what is it Another question is price, how much he needs to pay to renew for 2024 full year Thanks
A Pre-existing condition is any illness, known or unknown, that reasonably existed in the body before the effective date of the policy.
Most plans will not cover any expenses relating to a pre-existing condition, however there are some student plans that will offer coverage for a pre-existing condition after a certain waiting period. ExchangeGuard Choice (your plan) will offer $500 in coverage towards pre-existing conditions after a 6-month waiting period.
This means after 6 months you would be able to seek treatment for a pre-existing condition and receive coverage up to $500 dollars. If there are no pre-existing conditions that he has, then this benefit just simply will not apply to him.
Finally, with this plan you must purchase the full year before you are able to extend it past a year. It will be the same per day cost no matter how many days you purchase it for and there is a $5 dollar extension fee.
