At present, I'm evaluating various insurance plans for a F-2 Visa holder in the US. My husband is on the IU Anthem Insurance plan and I have three options: 1. Be added as a dependent on the same plan 2. Take Aetna Insurance as a dependent 3. Choose any other insurance from an independent insurance company provided the benefits available under that plan are equivalent to those being offered by the Aetna or Anthem insurance scheme.
You can't purchase the plan that is similar to Aetna only for yourself from outside market because you don't have social security number.
You can purchase international plan which does not cover maternity, preventive care, pre-existing conditions and it cost very less compare to Aetna or Anthem plan.
