I am US citizen my family recently moved to Chile and I will be joining them. I am a student and do have full health coverage in Chile through my fathers employers insurance plan. For the next couple of years I will be traveling back and forth and will need coverage here in the States. I would very much appreciate if you could send me some info about my options for coverage in the US. I used to be fully covered by my fathers insurance plan HUGHP Blue Choice provided by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. That coverage expired on September. Since I am a student I do not plan to have an employer here in the US and I am currently enrolled in a Chilean University. I would need a quote for a plan that would give me coverage in the state of MA where I am a resident.
We would be glad to assist.
If you are a U.S. citizen residing in Chile, the plans we have for Visitors to the U.S.A. will work for your visits here.
When you are running a quote through our Visitor plan link below, it will ask for your country of citizenship, as well as your home country.
Of course your country of citizenship is United States, but your country of residence or home country will be Chile as that will be where you are residing.
Please be advised that you can also carry our Expatriate plans that you can offer coverage worldwide including the U.S.
You can read over the eligibility requirements for each plan under their certificate wording link, but all plans will state that U.S. citizens must reside outside the U.S. at least 6 months out of the year.
Here is the quote link for our Expatriate plans: /expatriate-health-insurance/
However, if at any time you decide to stay in the U.S. permanently, you would need to move to a U.S. domestic plan.
