I was wondering whether it is possible to enroll in the Patriot Exchange Program, present it to the University, and in case the school does not accept this plan, will you issue a full refund if I cancel the policy before that start date of coverage? Please also find the list of requirements for your recommendations of another plans: BEGIN DATE: 8/20/2017 END DATE: 8/19/2018 In order for an insurance plan to meet the Emory University mandatory insurance waiver criteria, the insurance plan must feature, at a minimum, all three of the following: - Coverage that allows the insured student to receive outpatient, emergency, specialist and inpatient care, diagnostic testing and procedures, and mental health inpatient and outpatient care, including alcohol and substance abuse treatment, in Atlanta, GA - A deductible not greater than $2,500 per policy year. - The insurance must be provided by an insurance company domiciled in the United States (or must be provided by an international insurance company with a United States partner for handling of insurance claims in the United States). - Coverage both in the United States and abroad. International Students must have insurance that meets the following additional requirements: 1. Coverage for medical evacuation and repatriation of remains to the Insured Person's place of residence in his or her home country ($10,000 for evacuation, $7,500 for repatriation) 2. For J-1 exchange visitors and their J-2 dependents, the U.S. Department of State regulations require that the health insurance plan must also meet one or more of the following criteria: a. Part of a group benefits program offered to enrolled students by a designated sponsor, or b. A health maintenance organization (HMO) that is federally qualified as determined by the Health Care Financing Administration (HFCA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human services, or c. A Competitive Medical Plan (CMP) as determined by the Health Care Financing Administration (HFCA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human services, or d. Underwritten by an insurance company having an AM Best rating of "A-" or above, an Insurance Solvency International, LTD. (ISI) rating of "A-" or above, a Standard and Poor's Claims-Paying Ability rating of "A-" or above, or a Weiss research, Inc. rating of "B+" or above. I am waiting for the outcome of an scholarship that will determine whether I attend the masters degree or not. But I believe that the scholarship will require me a J1 visa. I will know for sure on Monday 14th August.
