J1/J2 USA Health Insurance We are an Australian family and we will be moving to live in the USA for a year. My wife has arranged a fellowship in Boston, MA which commences in September. We will be arriving in the USA on 8 August 2016 and living in Boston until the end of the fellowship in early July and then plan to travel for a few weeks in the USA and Canada until the start of August 2017 at which time we would return to Australia. I am 39 years old, my wife is 37 years old and we have three children that will be 5, 2 and 11 months old when we arrive in the USA. I have been investigating health insurance options and got some quotes from your website for Atlas America ($4,080.44) and Patriot Platinum America ($9,080.03) policies. The quotes were based on 364 days for $1m coverage and $0 deductible. Could you please advise which policy you would recommend? Is the Patriot Platinum policy significantly better given the increase in cost? I’ve read some blogs of people saying that Atlas America rejected their claims. Is one insurer more reliable than the other or have better customer service? Also, we are in the process of applying for J-1 & J-2 Visas for our family and we have been advised by the agency managing this (Cultural Vistas) that we need to obtain a level of health insurance that complies with specific US government regulations. I have attached a form that Cultural Vistas have sent us that they require our insurance company to complete and sign the very last section on the last page. Would Atlas America and Patriot America insurance companies being willing to complete and sign this section of the form if we purchased their health insurance? This is important because we cannot get visas unless they are willing to sign the form.
Thank you for your interest in purchasing insurance through us. As a broker we provide insurance from most of the major companies in US Market. You need to purchase Patriot Exchange plan that is suitable for J1/J2 visa holder. Patriot Platinum plan has policy max. lifetime of the policy, While Patriot Exchange has policy max. per incident. Atlas America plan is also very good. But in Atlas America plan there is country restriction that insured person should not be physically located in Australia at the time of application. Please read attachment herewith. So I would suggest to go for Patriot Exchange plan. In that plan you can have max. coverage for $500k/ incident. Patriot Exchange brochure, instant purchase and other useful information, /patriot-exchange-program-insurance/ Please review this plan and if you have any further questions feel free to contact us. You can find more plan for J1 visa insurance at, /j1-visa-health-insurance/ Please select policy max. $500k-$600k. And you can compare with other plans.
