Schengen D Visa Travel Insurance for Greece This question is aimed at the Administrators of the site please. I have just spent considerable time on this excellent website reading about the provisions pertaining to the Atlas International Product. I was excited having found this website and then happy that I found a Schengen Travel Insurance product available through Atlas. After clicking through the various links explaining the product and feeling that my search was finally over I clicked through HCCMIS Insurance-Eligibility Restrictions and was greeted with This product is not available to Citizens of Australia! Wow why? I'm an Australian born and bred and resident of Australia. I'm flabbergasted....I simply do not understand why we are excluded from this policy. My situation. I'm looking to obtain a Long Stay D Visa for Greece...One year. I satisfy all requirements as far as the Greek Consul is concerned except for the Travel Insurance. I then stumbled upon this remarkable website and thought my hunt is over. What a disappointment to find out I can't get the Atlas product. Can someone please help me understand what the issue is as far as Australia is concerned? And perhaps some direction as to where I might find Travel Insurance that satisfies the Schengen requirements? Thank you Rockjockey
Hello, Thank you for your interest in purchasing Schengen visa insurance. Unfortunately, Atlas International has the restriction for Australia as you mentioned due to regulatory requirements from Government of Australia, and that is beyond our control. I apologize for any inconvenience caused to you because of that. However, we have several other plans available at /schengen-visa-insurance/ that you can purchase and you would be eligible for. I hope that answers your questions. If you have any further questions, please feel free to post them here or contact us at any time.
Thank you for replying to my query re Atlas and Australian Citizens. I am even more confused now because you say they cite Regulatory Controls by the Australian Government....I am afraid I find this answer perplexing to say the least. I am an ex Insurance Sales person and have never heard of such a thing. Additionally you say there are other products on your site that would suit me. Why are they not subject to the same "Regulatory Government controls like Atlas?" Is it at all possible for me to contact the Atlas underwriters and ask them what the issue is? I am not one to be put off following an idea at the first hurdle that is placed in my path. I appreciate that you might be giving the answer you are giving me because that is what you have been told to say....fair enough. However it is not a satisfactory answer in my view. So please help me get to the bottom of this. I am definitely a potential customer. I look forward to your reply. Rockjockey:confused:
