Schengen Visa Insurance

Question:

Kindly note:I am moving permanently from New York to France on a Long-Stay Visa. The requirement is one year Schengen Insurance. I was told to purchase the Safe Travels Outbound Insurance plan (2X) two times for 180 days because I am from New York and there are restrictions. Why are there restrictions? Will this work for a year? The Consulate asks for: Travel health insurance certificate issued by the insurance company (covering any possible costs for medical repatriation, and emergency and/or hospital treatment, for a minimum amount of Euros 30,000, valid in France for the whole stay.Do you offer this Schengen Visa Insurance? Will I receive insurance that will be accepted by the French Consulate in New York? Thanks a lot.Marie Edwards

Answer:

You can purchase Beacon International Insurance for 364 days but this plan does not provide coverage for COVID. Once you establish your residence outside US, you have to purchase insurance from your residence country.

You can also purchase Expatriate Health Insurance

Alternatively you can purchase Safe Travels Outbound insurance for 180 days and new insurance for another 180 days. You will have 2 separate certificate numbers. This is the same rule whether you are from New York or not.
