University of Alaska Southeast Insurance Requirements

J-1 visa holders and their J-2 dependents are required to meet the U.S. Department of State’s federal minimum standards for health insurance coverage.

F-1 and J-1 international students are also required to meet this same minimum level of health insurance coverage. The university does not offer a student health insurance plan, so international students are responsible for procuring their own plan and providing proof of coverage to the university.
