Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences International Student Insurance

The Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences (OSU-CHS), located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is a medical school that is part of the Oklahoma State University System. It was founded in 1972 as the Oklahoma College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery. In 1988, the college merged into the OSU System and became the OSU College of Osteopathic Medicine. By 1997, it had expanded its focus to become an academic health center and gained its current name. The school’s mission is to train osteopathic physicians, research scientists, and health care professionals with an emphasis on serving rural and underserved areas in the state of Oklahoma. It enrolls more than 1,000 students and counting each year. The school colors are orange and black.

Academic and Research Opportunities

OSU-CHS offers graduate and professional degrees across its five academic divisions: the College of Osteopathic Medicine, the School of Allied Health, the School of Biomedical Sciences, the School of Forensic Sciences, and the School of Health Care Administration.

The OSU Center for Health Sciences also operates a clinic system in Tulsa. Facilities include the OSU Medical Center, the OSU Medicine Clinics, the OSU Health Access Network, and Project ECHO (Extension for Community Health Care Outcomes). Other partnerships include the Center for Rural Health, high school outreach programs, and the Office of American Indians in Medicine and Science.

One notable research initiative is the Center for Indigenous Health Research and Policy.
