The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS)—which was developed by the PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) created by Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and JCB—is an extensive set of technical and operational standards that a company needs to follow to ensure that all companies that process, store, or transmit credit card information maintain a secure environment.

When a business is PCI-compliant, it means that that the business reviews and follows the guidelines set forth by the credit card companies to help ensure your credit card information is protected and your personal information is secure.
NYU Washington, D.C., is a “study away” site of New York University located in Washington, D.C. Its student body consists of NYU students who are participating in an internship in the D.C. area for either a semester or a full academic year. Its curriculum focuses mainly on government, politics, public administration, and journalism, although other NYU academic departments that offer classes include environmental studies, history, international relations, English, art history, NYU Law, and social work.
As of 2019, NYU Washington, D.C., has about 30 instructors and 15 administrative staff. The facilities can accommodate up to 119 students each semester. It opened in 2012 and operates out of the Constance Milstein and Family Global Academic Center, a 75,000-square-foot facility featuring classrooms, faculty offices, research space, an auditorium, and residence space for up to 120 students. The center is located downtown, within easy walking distance of city institutions like the White House, the World Bank, and Smithsonian Museums. It also hosts NYU alumni events.
Students enroll in internships at organizations like non-profits, government agencies, financial institutions, media outlets, think tanks, corporations, international organizations, and more. Industries run the gamut from the arts to education to journalism to finance to politics. Students have been placed everywhere from the Air and Space Museum to the Library of Congress to the Federal Reserve to the Associated Press to the CIA to the White House.
