Kodiak College is a public college. It is a two-year satellite campus of the University of Alaska Anchorage, with a student strength of approximately 1,000.

The institute began operations in 1968 as a community college. At that time, it operated from the premises of a high school on Kodiak Island. Today, the college has its own 50-acre campus a few miles from the city of Kodiak.
