Holy Family University
Holy Family University International Student Insurance
Holy Family University, established in 1954, is a Catholic liberal arts university located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It also has two satellite locations in Newton, Pennsylvania, and Bristol Pike, Pennsylvania. It was chartered by the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth and was originally affiliated with the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. The school’s colors are dark blue, light blue, and white, and its athletic nickname is the tigers.
Campus Offerings
Recent additions to the academic curriculum include graduate programs in education in 1990, nursing and counseling psychology programs in 1997, a graduate program in criminal justice in 2007, and a doctoral program in educational leadership and professional studies in 2010.
The school’s motto is “Teneor votis”—or, in English, “I am bound by my responsibilities.” As a Catholic university, its mission is to “educate students to assume lifelong responsibilities towards God, society, and self.” Its core values include family, respect, integrity, service and responsibility, and vision. HFU also partners with local high schools by offering dual-credit courses to qualifying students in order to help speed up the college education process.
