The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS)—which was developed by the PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) created by Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and JCB—is an extensive set of technical and operational standards that a company needs to follow to ensure that all companies that process, store, or transmit credit card information maintain a secure environment.

Arizona State University partners with The Washington Center, a nonprofit organization providing internships and academic seminars to hundreds of universities across the country, to operate a campus location in Washington, D.C. After a nearly fifteen-year presence in the city, ASU opened the ASU Barbara Barrett and Sandra Day O’Connor Washington Center in 2018, the university’s flagship location in the nation’s capital. The campus houses the D.C.-based academic programs including the Washington Bureau of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law Rule of Law and Governance program, the Capital Scholars program, and the McCain Institute’s Next Generation Leaders program, among others. The program offers classes and semester-long internships for ASU students.
Internship opportunities include sites like The Smithsonian Institution, the Department of Defense, C-SPAN, INTERPOL, the Jane Goodall Institute, the National Park Service, the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives, and more. Students enrolled in the program spend Mondays through Thursdays at their internships. On Fridays, they gather in large and small groups for classes, seminars, field trips, and other activities. Additionally, one evening a week, they take an academic course taught by a Washington Center faculty member.
The main campus of Arizona State University, located in Tempe, Arizona, was established in 1885. It was established as the Territorial Normal School and opened its doors to students in 1886.
