General Information

The Arizona State University Polytechnic Campus, located in Mesa, Arizona, is a campus of Arizona State University that was established in 1996. It was founded as ASU East on the grounds of the former Williams Air Force Base. It gained its current name in 2005. In 2002, the university president reorganized the academic structure of ASU such that all campuses became unified as a single institution, sharing students, faculty, administration, and accreditation. Today, the Polytechnic campus enrolls about 5,000 students and counting each year.

Academic Offerings

ASU Polytechnic offers undergraduate and graduate degrees from the School of Business, The School of Engineering, The College of Integrative Sciences and Arts, and the Teachers College, as well as additional programs from the Honors College, the Graduate College, and the University College. The campus is geared toward studies in the fields of interdisciplinary sciences, engineering, management, technology, and education. The School of Engineering also includes the ASU Polytechnic Aviation program, which partners with the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport adjacent to the campus’s eastern edge.

Academic facilities include a flight simulator and centers for consumer behavior research, semiconductor fabrication, comprehensive commercial printing and design services, and on-demand digital manufacturing. Campus amenities include family housing, a freshman residence hall, dining facilities, and a student recreation center. The campus is also home to the Desert Arboretum, designed to conserve water and protect drought-tolerant native plants.

About Arizona State University

The main campus of Arizona State University, located in Tempe, Arizona, was established in 1885. It was established as the Territorial Normal School and opened its doors to students in 1886. It went through several name changes until it adopted its present name in 1958. It offers about 350 undergraduate degree options and more than 400 graduate degree and certificate programs. Its colors are maroon and gold, and its athletic nickname is the sun devils.
