Insurance question for visitor to U.S. Hello, My friend is coming to visit me in Florida and I would like to get her travel/medical/accident insurance. She is a citizen of Kosovo, but Kosovo is not in any of the drop down lists. How do you recommend we proceed?
You can put Serbia.
Hello, Thanks for your quick reply. Unfortunately, like many citizens of Kosovo, my friend is not willing to declare on any document that she is a citizen of Serbia. I'm sure you are aware of the political sensitivities as well as the personal losses suffered by many people in the conflict. Is there another solution for this? Can the section be left blank? Does your company intentionally omit Kosovo for some reason? Many thanks,
Hello, It is not a company decision the underwriters of certain plans will specify only certain countries within a plan. It is possible that within the plan you selected they only recognize Serbia and not Kosovo as an independent country. There is a plan called Patriot America Plus that will allow for Kosovo to be selected. It is not possible to leave the citizenship blank on an application.
