Question:

Comparison of Insurance for Parents Hi, I need to purchase medical insurance for my parents. Brief about my parents: • Father: 64 years. Healthy. Minor Cardio /Urological problems before. Not on any regular medication. • Mother: 61 years. Has back pain due to osteoporosis (severe at times). On regular medication for bone decay prevention. They are coming to US on May 7, 2014. I shortlisted the following: • Liaison Continent â€" Plan A ($1720 for 180 days for 2 people in 60-64 age range in Ohio) • Patriot America ($1593 for same coverage) • Patriot America has the advantage of being cheaper to buy and also lesser copayment (10% for first $5000 â€" compared to 20% for Liaison) I understand that only thing that these insurance would cover are: • Acute onset of pre-existing conditions • Any NEW conditions (accidents etc) Questions I had for you: • To me it seems that Liaison Continent has better coverage of doctors than Patriot America (via their respective PPO network). Can you please confirm if this is true? • Which one would you personally recommend based on your years of experience? • Are the rates quoted on your website final â€" or there are promo codes etc that I can apply to get a discount? You must be aware that your rates are slightly higher than *.com Please let me know at the earliest â€" as I would like to purchase it today itself. Regards,

Answer:

Thank you for your interest in purchasing visitors insurance for your parents. Please note that the insurance prices are regulated by the law and for exactly the same coverage, no one can offer any different price. It can’t be a penny higher or lower. There is never any concept of any discount. Even if I buy for my parents 10 times, I will have to pay the same price as you. Including Insubuy, there are various insurance aggregators who have made their own quoting engine using the rates given by respective insurance companies. I can’t comment about others but it is certainly possible that other agents’ rates are not up to date or they are not sure of how to calculate the duration/rates properly or some of them may have rounding errors. However, please note that when you decide to purchase a specific plan, we all use the online application given by respective insurance companies (which is the same no matter what agent) and the rate quoted by them is the final rate that you end up paying, irrespective of any web site like ours show. And I am confident that our web site is accurate. If could you kindly call me directly and give me the exact criteria that you entered, I would be glad to do the manual calculation for you and show you where the difference is coming from. Please be assured that no one can offer you any lower price for the same insurance. I look forward to hear from you soon.

I did the calculation on the following criteria on both web sites and found an identical price. Age: 60-64 Spouse Age: 60-64 Coverage Dates: 05/07/2014 to 11/02/2014 (180 days) Policy: $50,000 per person Deductible: $250 per person Liaison Continent A: $1,720.80 (both web sites) Patriot America: $1,593.00 (both web sites) Therefore, could you kindly let me know what discrepancy are you seeing?

I put the criteria on both web sites and see identical prices. The screen shots are attached herewith. Therefore, I am confused about different prices. I would appreciate you pointing out the difference, when you get a chance. As we are open 7 days a week and we always provide the best service to our customers and remain on your side when you need it, I sincerely request you to purchase the insurance from your web site at https://www.insubuy.com

I realized what caused the difference: I had used 179 days for *.com (excluded one day during flight – please see attached) vis-à-vis 180 days for Insubuy. Appreciate your effort in showing me that they are the same for the same duration! Regards,

Thank you for letting me know. I am glad that it got resolved. I checked again on our web site for 179 days and the prices are the same that you attached. Please let me know if there is anything else we can help you with.
