Atlas America or Patriot America? Hi, i'm a non-us citizen, currently visiting her for around 3 months, i would like to ask which insurance is better, the patriot america or the atlas america? which one you would suggest? Thanks
Both are excellent plans. You can choose either one, available at https://www.insubuy.com
Sorry I have some questions, I read the disclaimer part, which stated that "Lloyd's operates as an unauthorized insurer in all states of the United States except Illinois and Kentucky, where they are admitted. As such, claims under the insurance products described in this website may not be made against any state guaranty fund." Could you explain what it means? Thanks a lot
That just means that Lloyds is not regulated by individual state governments in the US. That only occurs in a typical domestic health insurance company. e.g. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas is licensed by Department of Insurance in Texas, does business in Texas, with the citizens and residents of Texas, for using the insurance while they are in Texas. Therefore, BSBS-Texas is regulated by Texas State Government. Just in an unlikely event, for example, if BCBS-TX were to go bankrupt or something, Texas State Government may try to pay the claims from state guaranty fund. You are not a resident of any particular state in the US, and you are just visiting the US temporarily. Therefore, Lloyds does not need to be regulated by any particular state in the US. Therefore, everything is OK. I hope that answers your question. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us at any time.
Hi, Thank you for the explanation... If I want to buy a plan for me & my 1 year old son, so I can just buy 1 plan plus dependent child, right? How the coverage would be? Is it up to policy max for us both, or for each of us?
The coverage (policy maximum) is per person, the deductible is person. In Atlas America, as long as one parent is buying, one child below 9 years is free.
