Rock climbing insurance I am looking to purchase travel insurance for the end of September into February/March. My intent is to travel first to Australia and New Zealand, then over to South East Asia for the remainder of the trip. First off, what policy would best cover a multi-destination, single trip excursion like that? And secondly, I noticed that one of the exclusions (#53) listed was any injury as the result of mountaineering. However, there is no definition as to what mountaineering actually entails. So what is that definition? Is it an activity like climbing a mountain like Everest? Or does mountaineering also include rock climbing? Please let me know as soon as possible. I would like to go to multiple countries and participate in self-guided rock climbing (with ropes). This is in reference to TravelGap Voyager.
TravelGap Voyager does NOT cover rock climbing. Look at Atlas International at /atlas-international-insurance/ and while doing the quotes, make sure to select 'Hazardous Sports Rider' which will cover rock climbing. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
I'm looking to take a self guided rock climbing trip to New Zealand and Australia this next winter and need an insurance policy that will cover any accidents sustained during the trip. I'm curious about the Atlas International policy with optional Sports Rider coverage, but have two questions. First of all, will this policy cover self guided rock climbing (with ropes)? And secondly, if I need medical treatment for an accident incurred overseas, will only the treatment obtained while overseas be covered, or will there also be coverage on medical expenses from continued treatment in my home country? If there is home country treatment on an accident incurred overseas, what this the length on that benefit period? Thank you for your time.
It would be covered with the sports rider. It would continue to provide cover with a 180 day benefit period. You can purchase it online at /atlas-international-insurance/
