Insurance for my mother Hi, I am planning to take insurance for my mother (age 65) who will be visiting me in 2 weeks time. She has diabetes and BP. She will stay with me for about 6 months. We will buy medicines outside, which she has to take daily for sugar and BP. During the stay in US if she has to be hospitalized due to high sugar or high BP, will it be covered in insurance plan? if yes which insurance product/instrument has this coverage? Unfortunately, that would be considered as pre-existing condition and not covered under any insurance plan from any company. I am surprised, you have made two posts. And the contents of both the posts are almost identical. And you are describing the same medical conditions of two entirelly different people. What exactly is going on?
Thanks for the apt/swift response. Yes, I posed two similar queries. Iin my case my mother is coming to US on visitor visa, whereas in my friends case his father is coming to US on green card. From the replies I understand that there is no difference between a person who is on visitor visa or green card as far as insurance is concerned, please correct if my understanding is correct. In your mother's case and and your friend's father's case, there is no difference.
