Question:

fullcoverage_GC_insurance Dear Friends, My sister has sponsored my dad for his G.C, which he will be getting next month. From now on He will be living in the U.S for about 6 months every year and 6 months in India.hopefully till he gets his U.S Citizenship. My Dad is diabetic and has Hypertension. He will be staying in 2 diffrent states N.J & Texas. Which state should I select while buying the insurance? Me , my sister and our brother back in India are fairly placed & would like to provide for the best medical coverage for our Dad. We have been trying to find the best, most comprehensive medical policy which would take care of him in case of any serious illness both in India & the U.S Is there any policy which can take care of Pre-Existing conditions? if not now , atleast after 1 year? can we extend ths same policy for 6 years? Covers Dental & all Prescription Drugs? Also covers the policy holder during his stay abroad? I have searched this nice website : /new-immigrant-insurance/ Search Criteria: non us citizen, home country USA, $ 1,000,000 per person Policy Max. age 65-69 , duration 11 months 29 days, yet to arrive. covers anywhere outside country of citizenship including during travel. these r the results: Patriot america - Total $2375.85 ( with co-insurance - 90/10 , deductible -- 2500 ) Patriot Platinum America - Total $ 3239.23 ( with co-insurance -100/0 , deductible -- 2500 ) Protection America - Total $ 2683.34 ( with co-insurance - 80/20 , deductible -- 2500 ) Patriot Gotravel America - Total $ 2190.08 ( with co-insurance - 90/10 , deductible -- 2500 ) does any of the above policies or anything else which anyone of u might have taken before say -- " covers everything for a price of ________ $ ? " sorry for such a lengthy query. thank you for ur time. :)

Answer:

You sent these queries by email also to me and I sent you the reply asking few questions, but I didn't get any reply. Therefore, I will try to answer the questions here: Which state should I select while buying the insurance? >>> You don't have to select any state. All the plans you mentioned above provide coverage everywhere in the US. He will be living in the U.S for about 6 months every year and 6 months in India. We have been trying to find the best, most comprehensive medical policy which would take care of him in case of any serious illness both in India & the U.S >>> As long as he stays in the US for less than 6 months out of the year, you can buy the policy for him that will cover him in the US and also in India. However, the plans you listed above are not appropriate. Look at /expatriate-health-insurance/ If you want the coverage only while he is here in the US, plans at /new-immigrant-insurance/ are appropriate. Is there any policy which can take care of Pre-Existing conditions? >>> No. if not now , atleast after 1 year? >>> No. can we extend ths same policy for 6 years?  >> Yes, for the policies in expatriates section. No, for the policies in the new immigrants section. Covers Dental & all Prescription Drugs? >> Depends upon which product you are referring to. Also covers the policy holder during his stay abroad? >> Yes, for the policies in expatriates section. Mostly no, for the policies in the new immigrants section. does any of the above policies or anything else which anyone of u might have taken before say -- " covers everything for a price of ________ $ ? " >>> No. I hope that answers your questions. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us at any time or post them here.
