Travel Medical Insurance

Question:

Incidental home country coverage so I'm confused by incidental trips. My plan is to go to India, Bhutan, Nepal, Tibet Jordan, Israel, Oman and United arab emirates from Jan 10 to Apil 11th, then come backto the states regroup and fly to south east asia for an additional 4 months can I jut get coverage for this whole time and consider my time at home an incidental trip and therefor have it covered by insurance? Also the 30 day after trip coverage will this act like health insurance for me in the states so I have a couple of weeks to buy US insurance for myself? Also if I'm flown home does the travel insurance cover the whole illness flown home for? I am currently on self bought independent insurance and do not want to carry it while traveling.

Answer:

We offer several products from different companies and they work little differently in each of them: e.g., for Atlas International, available at /atlas-international-insurance/, following are the definitions: Incidental Home Country Coverage For every 3 months of coverage purchased, Atlas International provides US citizens up to 15 days of incidental coverage for trips to your Home Country. Incidental visit time must be used within the three-month period earned, and the member must continue his or her international trip in order to be eligible for this benefit, which covers Medical expenses only. Return to your Home Country must not be taken for the purpose of obtaining treatment of an Illness or Injury that began while traveling. End of Trip Home Country Medical Coverage If you are covered under Atlas International and outside of your Home Country continuously (except for covered Incidental Trips as described above) for six (6) months or more you may purchase an additional 30 days of End of Trip Home Country Medical Coverage. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi, I read the definitions online before asking my question. I guess I feel they are too vague as most insurance definitions tend to be. >>> They are not vague. They precisely indicate what they are trying to convey. So specificly: Does it matter that I go back to my home country and then leave again for a totally different part of the world? >>>> No. If I were to be hit by a bus in my home country or while on end of trip coverage what happens? Will I be covered for this full injury all hospitalization even past the expiration of the policy? >>> As long as your you have incidental or end of trip home country coverage, as described below, you will be covered according to the schedule of benefits in the policy. What if I get cancer or something like that during this year is this covered? Am I flown home and all treatment provided? >>> No. Thanks,
