J1 and J2 insurance Hi, my husband and I want to buy the "INBOUND USA" plan, we hold J1 and J2 visa at Chicago. I will stay here for about 6 months-1 year according to the concrete arrangement, so I want to buy this plan monthly, will our account be renewable?
Yes, you can go month by month in Inbound USA. It is not automatic payment. You have to renew explicitly at My Account There is $5 renewal fee every time.
Thanks. So we just need to access My Account to buy the renewal one at the same membership number and needn't to buy new one, right? When we get this renewal, do we need to change the Certificate card? I heard that there has the expired date in the card. By the way, Inbound USA plan meets all the requirements of J1 and J2 visa, does it? And do we share one common account/Membership Number?
Yes, you just visit that web page to renew the insurance. Insurance card has the expiration date. Every time you renew, you will get a new insurance card but it will have the same ID number. J1/J2 insurance requirements say that you need at least $50,000/incident and Inbound USA has that. However, Inbound USA internal limitations for each benefit and J1/J2 regulation does not say anything explicit about that. Therefore, you decide. If you want to buy good J1/J2 plan that has no internal limitations, look at comprehensive plans at /j1-visa-health-insurance/
Do the comprehensive coverage plans have the renewal?
Visit USA: No Patriot Exchange: Only if purchased minimum 3 months initially, you can renew month by month.
So patriot exchange plan is the best for us, right? we will have a common membership number, right?
