Evansville is one of the most ethnically diverse places to stay in the U.S., which is great for international students.

Health-wise, residents are susceptible to the usual conditions one could suffer from anywhere – cardiovascular conditions, respiratory issues, and of course, unexpected illness or injury from accidents.

Statistically, Evansville is one of the more crime heavy locations in the United States. Violent crimes are predominant in some areas, with risks such as aggravated assault. The usual petty crimes like pickpocketing and robbery remain a possibility. There is a higher likelihood of your car being stolen here than in other places in the U.S.

While outside the tornado belt, Indiana can still fall prey to tornadoes. Take the precaution before you leave of learning what to do in case of tornado, and locate tornado shelters in areas you’ll frequent when you get to Evansville.
