California State University, East Bay Insurance Requirements

California State University, East Bay has standard insurance requirements for J-1 scholars and their dependents. In addition to these requirements, the copay may not exceed 25% of the bill, and they must show proof of coverage to the Center of International Education within a week of entering the U.S.

F-1 international students are required to purchase insurance through the school. The CSUEB provides a list of preferred health insurance vendors and does not accept alternative health insurance plans. There is no explicit mention of health insurance requirements for dependents. F-2s and J-2s can purchase any plan that meets the Department of State minimum standards.
