Insurance Corrections or Changes

Procedures

Please submit written correspondence in English, requests made in other languages may be returned or delayed.

Send an email to the ecivres with the <Certificate Number> and type of correction in the subject line.
In the email message, please mention the type of correction needed and the correct data to be used.

You will receive an email confirmation once we receive your request. Please allow 3 to 5 business days to process the request. Once the request is processed, you will receive another email confirmation. New insurance cards will be mailed only if any information on the card needs to be corrected (visitor name or coverage dates).

Note: Name correction is only to fix typing mistakes. It is not possible to replace the name of one person with another.

I authorize the plan administrator to charge the difference to my credit card, if necessary or credit me the difference in premium.

NOTE: If the age group changes because of the correction made to the date of birth, you may either get credit back or you may have to pay the difference.

Before the effective date, you can change the policy maximum. Simply cancel the one you currently have and purchase a new one.

Alternatively, you can send an email requesting the policy maximum change. Not possible for: Safe Travels for Visitors to the USA, Visitors Care.

I would like to change the policy maximum to <New Policy Maximum>.

Requests to change or correct the coverage dates must be received before the effective date or the extension date of the policy.

I mistakenly put the wrong coverage dates. Please change the dates of coverage to <Effective Date> and/or <Expiration Date>.

NOTE: If additional days are added, then you must pay the difference. If there are fewer days, you may receive a credit back.

Before the effective date, you can change the product. Simply cancel the one you currently have and purchase a new one. After the effective date, it is not possible to make this type of change to the policy.

Most of the time, someone would like to convert from fixed coverage plan to comprehensive coverage plan when the insured person falls sick and they realize they need a better plan with comprehensive coverage. You would have to cancel the plan that you currently have and purchase a new policy.

However when you do that, whatever problems the insured person already has would then be considered pre-existing conditions and will not be covered in the new policy. By making this policy change, you would also lose whatever existing coverage you had in the first policy because it got cancelled.

It is best to do the research before you buy, and stick with the policy that you have purchased already.
