Updated Travel Insurance Requirements for Singapore and Malaysia

https://www.insubuy.com/covid19-travel-medical-insurance/On March 30, Singapore’s Ministry of Trade and Industry announce that travel insurance will no longer be a requirement for visitors entering Singapore from Malaysia, or entering Malaysia from Singapore via the land border, so long as they are fully vaccinated for COVID-19. These new entry requirements are effective from April 1, 2022. Previously, all visitors to Singapore were required to have at least $22,000 in travel insurance coverage.
Updated Entry Requirements for Visitors to Malaysia from Singapore
The following information was released by Malaysia’s health ministry on March 30, and will take effect April 1, 2022.
- All travelers who are fully vaccinated are no longer required to quarantine
- Visitors must download the MySejahtera app prior to entering Malaysia
- They then must verify their COVID-19 vaccination status via mysafetravel.gov.my
- Visitors who are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated must have COVID-19 travel insurance providing at least $20,000 in coverage
- Children under seven years of age are exempt from pre-departure testing
