Wright State University - Lake Campus requires all international students purchase the school’s insurance plan. This plan can only be waived for those students who have a U.S.-based plan through employer of a spouse/parent or a government sponsor who have an agreement with WSU and can provide proof of coverage. The college states that accompanying dependents must also purchase this insurance plan, or have it waived through the same requirements. It is recommended to contact the University Center of International Education to verify the health insurance requirements prior to purchase, as detailed information may only be provided to the attendee.

Exchange Visitors

Wright State University- Lake Campus requires that J-1 Scholars, or those participating in a J visa Exchange Visitor Program, purchase health insurance for themselves and their dependents that is in compliance with the federal limits of health insurance coverage mandated by the Department of State for the full duration of their stay in the USA. All plans under the Exchange Visitor (J-1/J-2) section will meet the requirements mandated by the Department of State. It is recommended to contact the University Center of International Education to verify the health insurance requirements prior to purchase, as detailed information may only be provided to the attendee.
