The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS)—which was developed by the PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) created by Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and JCB—is an extensive set of technical and operational standards that a company needs to follow to ensure that all companies that process, store, or transmit credit card information maintain a secure environment.

The University of Toledo, located in Toledo, Ohio, was established in 1872. It was founded as the Toledo University of Arts & Trades and opened its doors to students in 1875. It was forced to close due to lack of funding in 1878 but reopened in 1884 as the Toledo Manual Training School, funded by the city. As its curriculum expanded and the school began to offer baccalaureate degrees, it changed its name to Toledo University in 1914. It gained its current name and status as a state-funded university in 1967. In 2006, it merged with the Medical University of Ohio. Today, the university enrolls more than 20,000 students and counting each year. The school colors are Rocket Gold and Tower Blue, and its athletic nickname is the rockets.
The university offers more than 300 undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs across its 13 academic colleges, including colleges of business and innovation, education, law, medicine and life sciences, nursing, and pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences. Some of its nationally ranked programs include business, engineering, law, and occupational therapy. Some notable research initiatives at the university focus on the fields of astronomy and astrophysics; solar energy, water quality and sustainable technologies; cell architecture and dynamics; hypertension and precision medicine, and human trafficking.
Noteworthy traditions at the university include Songfest, in which student organizations put on song-and-dance performances to raise money for charity, and RockeTHON, a dance marathon that has raised more than $750,000 in the last twenty years for the Children’s Miracle Network.
