University of Toledo International Student Insurance

The University of Toledo, located in Toledo, Ohio, was established in 1872. It was founded as the Toledo University of Arts & Trades and opened its doors to students in 1875. It was forced to close due to lack of funding in 1878 but reopened in 1884 as the Toledo Manual Training School, funded by the city. As its curriculum expanded and the school began to offer baccalaureate degrees, it changed its name to Toledo University in 1914. It gained its current name and status as a state-funded university in 1967. In 2006, it merged with the Medical University of Ohio. Today, the university enrolls more than 20,000 students and counting each year. The school colors are Rocket Gold and Tower Blue, and its athletic nickname is the rockets.
