University of Northern Colorado International Student Insurance

The University of Northern Colorado (UNC), located in Greeley, Colorado, was established in 1889 as the State Normal School of Colorado, a teacher-training institution. It opened its doors to students in 1890. The school was renamed the Colorado State Teachers College in 1911 and was already offering undergraduate work and bachelor of arts degrees. In 1935, it was again renamed to the Colorado State College of Education to reflect its fully developed graduate program. It became Colorado State College in 1957 and adopted its present name in 1970. Today, UNC enrolls almost 13,000 students and counting each year. The school colors are navy blue and gold, and its athletic nickname is the bears.
