General Information

“Please Come to Boston” was a very popular song in the 1970s. There are plenty of reasons to visit this beautiful city. You can add one more reason to go to Boston: To take admission in the 120-year-old Simmons University.

Aimed at providing quality liberal arts education to women, the institute has always been progressive and liberal in its outlook. Throughout its history, Simmons has been known for accepting students of all backgrounds and identities.

Today, Simmons University also runs a coeducational graduate school. And it carries forward the legacy of creating not simply employable graduates, but thought leaders and messengers of change.

Health Risks for Simmons University International Students

Boston’s crime rates are not among the lowest in the US. However, like any major city, there are neighborhoods that are more and less dangerous. The area surrounding Simmons University is considered quite safe, and only typical safety precautions need be taken.

The state of Massachusetts is visually appealing, so you might take off on weekends and holidays to explore the countryside. But stay alert for natural hazards like thunderstorms, or extreme snowfall in the winter. Bites from ticks and snakes can cause illnesses, so wear repellent and walk carefully. And of course, watch your diet. Don’t overstuff yourself with unhealthy American fast food.
