Oklahoma State University—Oklahoma City (OSU-OKC), located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, is a member of the Oklahoma State University System. It was founded in 1961 as a branch campus of OSU in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and was named Oklahoma State University Technical Institute. It gained its present name in 1990. Today, OSU-OKC enrolls more than 5,000 students and counting each year. The majority of them are part-time students who are residents of the state of Oklahoma.
Academic Offerings
OSU-OKC’s academic divisions include Business & Agriculture Technologies; Health Sciences; Human Services; Liberal Arts; Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics; and University Studies. It offers associate’s degrees in science and applied science, bachelor’s degrees in technology, and a wide variety of certificate programs. Many of its degrees are available totally online for students’ convenience.
Campus Life
OSU-OKC operates a number of community outreach programs. The Precision Driving Training Center provides training for business schools, hospitals, and first responders in the areas of safety, emergency preparedness, and precision driver training. The OSU-OKC Farmer’s Market is open year-round and sells Oklahoma-grown and -made produce, skincare items, and craft items. The Training and Development Center is a business services resource dedicated to improving work-related skills of the Oklahoma City area workforce.
