Trip Insurance
These are package plans
that provide trip cancellation (need to cancel trip for several covered reasons and need
to recover non-refundable trip expenses), trip interruption (need to get back home
due to several covered reasons), lost baggage, baggage delay, emergency medical evacuation,
accident or sickness medical expenses and several other things. They provide you overall
the best travel protection and should be first choice for any traveler.
Flight Insurance It generally covers accidental death and dismemberment while
traveling in a flight. It is relatively inexpensive insurance plan that provides
lot of coverage. Some flight insurance plans also provide other things such
as lost baggage, baggage delay or medical evacuation.
Medical Evacuation Insurance
If you are traveling internationally, if you were to get badly injured or sick, it is of utmost
importance to receive good quality medical treatment immediately.
If you are in an area where such adequate care is not available, you must be evacuated to such
nearest location, which can sometimes be very far, even several hours of flight away. And the
evacuation costs may be enormous, as much as $100,000.
Emergency medical evacuation insurance covers you in case you need to be evacuated. There is
no medical coverage, mainly the transportation. This can be specially useful to US citizens
who are traveling to neighboring countries or taking cruise and need to be evacuated to US
where they already have health insurance.
Annual Multitrip Insurance If you are traveling either domestic within
US or internationally throughout the year, and need travel protection, you should consider buying
annual multi trip policy. Several different types of plans are available, including flight
accident only or the package travel protection plans.
