HCC Medical Insurance Services (HCCMIS) was established as Multinational Underwriters in 1998 in Indianapolis, USA. HCCMIS offers several travel medical insurance plans, long term major medical plans as well as international life insurance plans.

Multinational Underwriters was acquired by TravelGuard. In turn, Multinational Underwriters was retained by the Noel Group when they decided to sell TravelGuard to AIG. Later, Multinational Underwriters was sold to HCC Life Insurance Company.

In 2009, Multinational Underwriters was renamed as HCC Medical Insurance Service (HCCMIS).

Even after changing hands several times, HCCMIS insurance continues to be underwritten by Lloyds of London.
