Clarifying some doubts prior to purchasing visitor medical insurance My daughter is 28 and she is going to NYC for 3 months soon. She is from and lives in Portugal. I tried to study in the internet how insurances works in the USA for foreigners and some doubts came... I saw in your site www.insubuy.com some insurances and I willing to buy the one which is in the screenshot attached. With $0 deductible and $1.000.000 policy max But I read some bad reviews about Atlas, although very good about Fallon which I presume is one of your staff. Questions: 1. If anything happens the best option is to go to a PPO Network doctor or hospital, right? 2. If an emergency occurs, with this policy $1.000.000 and she needs to go under surgery, or intensive care, till how much this specific policy covers? 3. Is this a so called comprehensive coverage policy? 4. Does it include travel issues, like described in the policy terms attached below. 5. If a claim is needed, it will be to Insubuy or Atlas made? I will very pleased for your answer item by item and what plus you feel be useful.
Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. 1. This is correct the most benefit will come from going to an in network provider, these are the providers that have agreed to work upon network negotiated rates. 2. The Atlas America plan works in the following way: After the deductible the plan will pay 80% to the first $5,000 dollars of medical expenses, then 10% to the chosen policy maximum. However if the provider is in network and directly bills , the plan will waiver your 20% coinsurance and pay 100% after the deductible for the eligible expense. 3. Atlas America is a comprehensive plan. 4. There are not any policy terms attached please resubmit these terms and we can make a determination on whether or not this plan will meet them. 5. Claims will be submitted directly to the claims department. If you have any other question please feel free to contact our office.
1. Got PPO Network hospitals in NYC? 2. Suppose she got suddenly ill and she goes or is taken to an hospital emergency. Hopefully the event is solved and she is discharged (not admitted as inpatient). In this case how much she's got to pay.
Please see the answers to your questions below. If you have any additional questions please let us know. You may also contact our office at (866) INSUBUY. 1. The Atlas America plan utilizes the First Health PPO Network. You may use the link provided below to search for a provider in your area. First Health PPO Network: /travel-and-student-insurance-ppo-network/ 2. The plan covers emergency room visits up to the policy maximum. You would first pay your deductible amount, then the plan will pay either 100 percent (if you are in-network and the provider bills directly) or 80 percent of the first $5,000 in covered expenses. There is a $200 penalty charged if they visit the ER, and are not admitted to the hospital.
