Q:Can my mother do regular doctor visits with the comprehensive care coverage

A:
The plans for visitors will provide coverage for new illnesses and new injuries that are contracted after the effective date and the benefit levels are plan specific. They do not cover for preventative care, routine maintenance or pre-existing conditions with the exception of acute onset of pre-existing condition benefits on some plans. So if by regular doctor visits you mean for example someone contracts an illness after the effective date of the policy and needs to seek treatment, then yes, the plans could provide benefits up to the selected plan's benefit levels. Coverage is determined at the time of the claim based on the attending physician / medical reports at the time if incident. This would apply to Fixed or Comprehensive plans. The difference between Fixed and Comprehensive is not what the plans cover but how much they will cover for covered expenses. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Q:My elderly parents recently got their green card and came to the US on Mar 15,2023. They got insurance from Apr 1, 2023, under ACA with special enrollment as they had entered the country for the first time with a green card. They intend to go back to India in Jul 2023. I am planning to apply for their re-entry permit so that they can stay outside USA for extended period (less than 2 years). I would cancel their ACA insurance when they leave the USA.My question is that when they enter the US again, which maybe in the middle of the year 2024 (outside the open enrollment window for ACA) will they be eligible for Special enrollment for ACA and be able to get health insurance when they enter? Or will they have to wait for the next open enrollment window (end of the year to start insurance on Jan 1 of the next year)?

A:
You would need to confirm that information with the HealthCare Exchange in your state. We do not provide ACA compliant plans and cannot advise. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
