Q: I am trying to extend my insurance. When I want to extend, the insurance states that "I understand that the insurance applied for is not a general health insurance policy, but is intended for use in the event of a sudden and unexpected event while traveling outside my Home Country." What does this statement mean? Does it mean it will not cover regular illnesses that comes up in the future like fever / sore throat? Thank you.

A:
That means that many things such as preventive check ups, pre-existing conditions, maternity, cosmetic surgery etc. are not covered. If you get into new medical conditions like cough, cold etc. after the effective date, they are covered.

Q:Could you please advise if your policies cover pre-existing medical conditions.

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. Unfortunately, there is no insurance for an international visitor which covers routine maintenance for the pre-existing conditions. You have to pay from your pocket. However, insurance will cover for an acute onset of pre-existing conditions. Please find more details here. We would be happy to recommend a plan for coverage. Please confirm the state that they would require coverage in as well as the dates and visa status upon arrival we would be happy to send you a quote. Please feel free to contact us if you need any further clarification.

Following her graduation she will holiday for 11 days in the USA, with her parents, by which time she hopes to have heard if her OPT application has been successful. She will remain in the USA. I see you offer insurance for OPT, however, could you advise the best insurance that will cover her whilst she travels/awaits the results of her OPT application. Lets assume (say) she needs cover from 12th May to end of June 2018

Q:My parents are starting from India on April 25th and again starting back from USA on Oct 14th and reaching India on Oct 15th. The policy period is from April 25th to Oct 15th. Is that correct or should it be till Oct 14th? I am planning on purchasing the Atlas America plan for them

A:
The plans are based on EST in the U.S. Even though they will reach India on October 15 you will need to enter the coverage dates of the policies based on the Eastern Standard Time in the U.S. If it is October 15 in India, but October 14 in U.S. based on EST, then you will select a coverage end date of October 14,2018. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
