Q:My parents are visiting United states and I am looking for budget friendly insurance for them and have queries related to available options. How does fixed benefit plan work Can you explain with an actual example like arising of life threating condition like heart attack and how much the actual cost could be and how much of that would be covered by fixed insurance

A:
Fixed Coverage plans will pay fixed amounts according to a "Schedule of Benefits". They will pay up to a certain fixed dollar amount listed in the schedule of benefits and you are responsible to pay the difference. This means the majority of the cost will come from your pocket, rather than the plan. Acute onset of pre-existing conditions on a fixed plan will also pay up to that fixed dollar amount depending on what type of treatment you get. Since no two heart attacks are the same the price can vary depending on what type of treatment you receive. Just know since it is paid according to the schedule of benefits you are responsible for the remainder. Q:Can an International student studying in the U.S. on an M1 visa purchase the Exchange Guard Essentials Health insurance?

A:
Unfortunately only students who are on a J1/J2 or F1/F2 visa are eligible for the ExchangeGuard plans. M1/M2 students are eligible for PatriotExchange Program and Student Health Advantage plans. If a M1/M2 student maintains a full-time status then they would be eligible for Student Secure and Study USA plans as well. If you have any additional questions please let us know.
