Q:What does it mean when you say- Routine Physical is not included in the comprehensive plan

A:
Plans are designed to cover any new illness or injuries that were to occur after the effective date of the policy. There are no visitors plans on the market will cover preventative care or routine maintenance. A yearly (routine) physical would be considered routine maintenance and would not be covered under visitors plans. If you have any additional questions please let us know.

Q:I am pregnant and on a tourist visa (B-2) in the USA. Is there any insurance I can buy to cover the birth expenses?

A:
Visitors Insurance plans will not provide coverage for labor and delivery in the United States. There are some plans that will include coverage for the complications of pregnancy. One such plan is the Atlas America. This plan includes coverage for the complications of pregnancy that occur during the first 26 weeks of pregnancy. Q:Hello, I have my parents visiting from India for 2 months. They are 75 and 69 and have no pre-existing medical conditions. I need the best insurance for them during their stay in Dublin OH. I want to make sure the insurance is valid across different healthcare sites and I have minimal out of pocket expenses and the best coverage. That is, I dont want the provider to say - pay now and then submit your claims. Instead, the insurance directly pays the provider. Can you recommend me the best insurance plan? Thank you.

A:
Visitors To USA plans will offer coverage throughout United States, in or out-of-network for covered expenses. There are no plans on the market that are able to guarantee that a provider will directly bill the insurance, that is at the sole discretion of the provider. Please see the PPO Network Claims article for more information about what you are asking. If you have any additional questions let me know.

Q:My parents are visiting United states and I am looking for budget friendly insurance for them and have queries related to available options. How does fixed benefit plan work Can you explain with an actual example like arising of life threating condition like heart attack and how much the actual cost could be and how much of that would be covered by fixed insurance

A:
Fixed Coverage plans will pay fixed amounts according to a "Schedule of Benefits". They will pay up to a certain fixed dollar amount listed in the schedule of benefits and you are responsible to pay the difference. This means the majority of the cost will come from your pocket, rather than the plan. Acute onset of pre-existing conditions on a fixed plan will also pay up to that fixed dollar amount depending on what type of treatment you get. Since no two heart attacks are the same the price can vary depending on what type of treatment you receive. Just know since it is paid according to the schedule of benefits you are responsible for the remainder.
