Q:My wife came here June 25, 2018 and we were married on August 18th. We are still saving up to get her green card or aos as it's also referenced as. In the meantime what options do I have for getting her insurance, or if I get insurance can I add her even though she doesn't have a ssn yet? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A:
There are plans that she is eligible for that will cover any new illness or injury that occurs after the effective date. The plans will not cover pre-existing conditions, preventative care, or routine maintenance. One plan you can look at is the International Major Medical plan or the short term domestic plan.

Q:I am inquiring insurance coverage for my parents who are visiting Atlanta, GA, USA. They are not US Citizens and neither US Residents. They arrived on 26th Sep and now I am asking for 10 days insurance for this trip. They live in Pakistan and I am also exploring if they can use the insurance in Pakistan too. Their ages are 64 and 66 years respectively.

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. In order to better assist you please provide the arrival visa status of the proposed insured as well as the dates of coverage we will be happy to send you a quote. As the insured individuals arrived on September 26th, are either of the proposed insured currently sick or injured or is there a reason you are just now purchasing insurance? Please keep in mind that the plans cover the new accidents and new illnesses that happen after the effective date of the policy. So if the insureds are sick or injured prior the purchase of the policy it will not be covered. Plans are going to cover them anywhere outside of the home country so coverage would not be available within Pakistan.
