Q:My family and I are traveling back to the US for the holidays. My family and I live in China and we have worldwide insurance, but it excludes the USA. My wife is currently 5 months pregnant. She is a Romanian citizen and I am a US citizen as well as my son. Do you offer any insurances that cover complications during pregnancy? If yes, which ones? If no, can you please recommend what we can do?

A:
We would be glad to advise. We do have plans for visitors to the U.S. There are plans that can cover your spouse as a Romanian citizen, and you and your child as U.S. citizens. Because of this, you would be eligible for different plans and your spouse would have to be on her own plan, and you and your son on another. The plan we would recommend for your spouse who is pregnant, would be the Atlas America Plan. This plan includes complications of pregnancy benefits up to 26 weeks. The plan we would recommend for you and your son, would be the Patriot America Plus plan. If you have any additional questions, or need any additional assistance, please let us know.

Q: I am hoping you can provide me some advice as to which plan would be most appropriate for my family's circumstances. We are hoping to start a new job in the US in January and will be moving to the US on a E-3 visa which is a non-immigrant work visa for Australians. It is similar to the H-1 visa in that it is a non-immigrant visa and therefore I will not hold Green Card status. I will look to enroll on a domestic medical insurance plan through my employer as soon as possible but coverage cannot start until the date of my employment at the earliest which is likely to around 2 weeks after my arrival in the US to get settled. I am therefore looking for an affordable solution for this 2 week gap - which plan should I choose? Kind regards

A:
Please see the links below for the recommended plan. If you need additional assistance please feel free to contact our office. Patriot America Plus

Q:My mother is green card holder who was living China for more than 1 year. She has reentry permit for 2 years. She will travel to US for 3 months. What type of insurance plan can we buy?

A:
If your mother is only coming for a visit and she maintains a residence in China then you can purchase any of the plans in the Visiting with Green Card section of our website. If she decides to come to the US permanently then you would look in the new immigrant section of our website.

Q:I am 61 yrs old and live with my husband on a sailboat in the Caribbean for 6 months every year. My husband is 70 yrs and is covered by Medicare. The other 6 months we visit our children/grandchildren in Alaska; our parents in WA, AZ and CA; camp, bike and hike around the USA. My current health care plan in Alaska with the ACA will no longer cover me anywhere but in Alaska except in an emergency, and then with so many restrictions that it is not useful. I am looking for a different policy. Can you help me? I am a US citizen. I don't have any coverage, so I want coverage in the Caribbean for 6 months, and the USA for the other 5 or 6 months. I want it to start Jan1, 2019 for a year, until Dec 31, 2019. I am living on our sailboat so prefer email, but can call if necessary. Thank you for your time and consideration.

A:
If you are outside of the US for more than 6 months during the year then you can review the Expatriate plans as an option. If you have additional questions please feel free to contact our office.
