Q:I am writing to say that I am an international PhD candidate and recently have been offered admission in Western Sydney Univeristy. As you may be aware, I am supposed to arrange my OSHC policy before entering Australia. In this respect, I have questions. First, in my offer, the commencement date of my course is stated 25 Feb 2019; however, due to the visa process, it may occur delays. Thus, I am not sure when I should fix as the start date of my policy. Second, there is a difference between cost of policy for 49 months in your website and that in University website. Is there any difference, for example, regarding the items you cover? Third, if there is any problem for instance visa cancelling making me never enter Australia, would the cost of policy be refunded?

A:
We would be glad to assist. As far as the start date, you will have to determine what date to use, however, once a policy is active, we cannot adjust the start date after that. So if you choose for example Feb 25th, and then do not end up needing coverage to begin until for example March 17th, you would still be covered from the 25th of Feb. You can send us the University's requirements so that we may review them. They can be sent as well to info at insubuy.com. If you have a particular plan already chosen, please advise what plan you are referring to. We would have to verify which policy, in order to answer any questions about benefits, pricing, or cancellation guidelines, as these things are plan specific. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Q:I'm the US citizen who lives the most of the life outside of the USA (age 64, citizen and resident of Poland). I'm planning to visit USA as a tourist soon. Destination is California. I found your health insurance named National General STM. Is that insurance working in California? I don't see any brochure for California. Please advise. Thank you

A:
We have attached the links for our visitor plans, that will specifically cover a U.S. citizen visiting the U.S. Patriot America Plus Insurance Patriot America InsuranceDiplomat America Insurance These plans can cover for a temporary visit, but these visits would usually not exceed 6 months. The National General plan you're referring to, is a short term plan for U.S. citizens living in the U.S., or permanent residents. That would not apply to you, as you reside outside the U.S. If you have any additional questions, please let us know, we would be glad to assist.
